Dismissed through the bathroom window: heavily in debt despite selling superstar Lajos Détári after only one season, Eintracht fired coach Karl-Heinz Feldkamp on September 13, 1988. Five days later they managed another farce of Schildbürger level when manager Wolfgang ‘Scheppe’ Kraus was dismissed. Since Kraus would not open his front door, vice-president Klaus Mank ultimately had the summary dismissal delivered through the toilet window. Kraus later said dryly that the notice had landed in exactly the right place: in his guest toilet.
